REGIS CLIMBS OVER MOUNTAINEERS, 81-48

BENNINGTON, Vt. – The Regis College Pride remained unbeaten in NECC play as they were able to cruise past the Southern Vermont Mountaineers by a score of 81-48 on Thursday evening. With the win, Regis improves to 11-3 on the season and 8-0 in the NECC. Southern Vermont drops to 4-10 on the season and 3-4 in NECC action.

The Pride were led by Claire Ramonas (Portland, Maine) and Emilee Marro (Bedford, N.H.), who scored 15 points each.

Southern Vermont trailed Regis 18-12 with 12:15 to go in the first half after a three pointer by the Mountaineer's Joa Clarcius, but Regis would go on a 13-3 run to extend the lead to 16. The teams would trade baskets until Emilee Marro drilled a three pointer as the clock expired to end the first half, with Regis in front 38-23. Southern Vermont never recovered and Regis was able to cruise to the 81-48 victory.

Southern Vermont was led by Joa Clarcius who had 16 points behind 6-18 shooting. Ashliy Veliz netted 15 behind 7-14 shooting.

Regis returns to action on January 21st for an NECC matchup against Mitchell. Game time is set for 3:00pm. Southern Vermont will look to get back on the winning track when they travel to Wheelock on January 21st for an NECC matchup. Tipoff is for 1:00pm.
