PAGE BECOMES ALL-TIME LEADING SCORER AT REGIS COLLEGE

Weston, Mass.—Senior Jessica Page (Quincy, Mass.) having been a member of the women’s basketball team for the last four years has become the programs all-time leading scorer. Page set the new scoring record at 1,659-points, surpassing the previous record of 1, 632-points by 27 points.

Page broke the previous record by two points in The Commonwealth Coast Conference semifinal game versus Endicott College (02/25/10). She helped led the Pride to a 73-66 victory over its conference foe. Regis lost to Endicott in the quarterfinals game during the 2008-09 season.

Page played a team-high 1,037-minutes, and averaged 14.8 points per game through 30 games. Known throughout the conference as a three-point shooter, Page had the second highest three point shooting percentage on the team (.333).

She had a season-high 24 points against Mount Ida College (11/15/09). But had a career-high 27 points against Rivier College last season. The talented guard scored more 10 or more points in 23 games this season. Regis won 17 of those games when Page scored at least 13 points.

She also shot 66.3 percent from the free-throw line on the season, adding to her ability to shoot from the floor. Page etched her name into the 1,000-point club during the 2008-09 campaign while the team was in tournament play in the Bahamas.

Kim Mariotti and Laura Sears, both members of the team last year, also scored their 1,000th career points. It is the first time this decade that more than one player has scored 1,000 points in the same season.

Having led the Regis College women’s basketball team to TCCC finals during the 2009-10 season for the first time since the 1990s, and having made its first appearance in the Eastern College Athletic Conference since the same time, Regis has its longest postseason. The Pride lost to the University of New England in the finals, and to Plymouth State in the ECAC semifinals.

Page is a nursing student at Regis College, and plans to continue practicing following graduation in May. She has been completing her clinical hours as a part of the nursing program requirements all while being an active participant of the women’s team.
