MCNULT POSTS DOUBLE-DOUBLE, LEADS REGIS TO ECAC SEMIFINALS

Weston, Mass.—Sarah McNult posted her 10th double-double of the season while leading Regis College (20-9, 11-2 TCCC) to a 63-53 victory over Worcester State College in the Eastern College Athletic Conference quarterfinals Wednesday.

McNult finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds on 4-of-9 (.444) shooting from the field, and making 5-of-6 (.833) free-throw attempts. She grabbed seven defensive rebounds, which matched personal highs for two Worcester State players.

 

Sophomore Stephanie Crawford (Rockland, Mass.) had a team-high 15 points. She was perfect from the free-throw line, making all five of her attempts.

 

Five other Pride members would score Wednesday. Stefanie Wozmak (Auburn, N.H.) had the third highest point total with nine. Jessica Page and Meagan Tobin, both from Quincy, Mass., each had eight points.

 

Brittany White (Dorchester, Mass.) and Caitlin Luquet (Walnut Creek, Cailf.) had seven and three points respectively.

 

Worcester State shot slightly better than Regis, making 21-of-59 (.356) from field. Regis made 19-of-21 (.322) from the field.

 

Neither team was outstanding from behind the arc. Regis shot 29 percent while Worcester State shot an even lower 14 percent. The Pride led in the steals department posting 15. Crawford and Page each had four steals.

 

The Lancers committed 21 turnovers in the game to Regis’ 17. After a back and forth first half with Regis trailing going into intermission, the Pride had 39 second half points to Worcester State’s 28.

 

Regis College will travel to New Hampshire Saturday to face Plymouth State at 3:00 p.m.
