REGIS TO HOST ECAC QUARTERFINAL VERSUS WORCESTER STATE

Weston, Mass.—The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced Regis College women’s basketball would host Worcester State College Wednesday, March 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the ECAC Championships.

No. 2 Regis College (19-9, 11-2 TCCC) will host its first ECAC quarterfinal game since the mid-1990s. Worcester State College (15-13, 7-5 MASCAC), playing as the seventh seed, enters the game having lost its conference finals match-up to MCLA. Regis too lost its TCCC finals contest versus the University of New England.

Head coach Julie Plant, in her fifth year, has led the Pride to three consecutive TCCC postseasons, with Saturday’s appearance being its first visit to the finals since 1996. This will also be Regis’ first appearance in the New England region of the ECAC tournament since the same time.

The Lancers are led by sophomore and second-team All-MASCAC member Kaleigh Charette (Fairhaven, Mass.) with 10.4 points per game, and second in rebounds with 5.5 RPG. Bri Flanders (Southampton, Mass.) has a controlling lead in rebounds averaging 7.7 RPG.

Senior Jessica Page (Quincy, Mass.) is leading Regis in total points (428), an average of 15.3 PPG. Teammate Stephanie Crawford (Rockland, Mass.) comes in second with 11.6.

Junior Sarah McNult (Hampstead, N.H.) leads the Pride in total rebounds (266), and averages just under double-figures with 9.6 RPG. McNult had a team-high 16 points and seven rebounds versus UNE.
