WESTON, Mass. - Regis College Softball dropped both games against Johnson and Wales University in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matchup on Friday at the Regis Softball Field.
Game One:

The Wildcats took an early lead in the top of the first on a sacrifice fly from Mady Lyons.

Johnson & Wales added to its offense in the second, scoring back-to-back runs off a double from Jadyn Torres and a single from Mackenzie Clee. With two outs and the bases loaded, Caroline Amorelli delivered a key single up the middle, driving in two runs to give JWU a 5-0 lead.

Regis threatened in the bottom of the second with a single from Kristen Galvin (North Reading, Mass.) and a double from Avery Patles (Derry, N.H.), but the Wildcats ended the inning with a strikeout.

JWU extended its lead in the fourth after an RBI from Amorelli and a pass ball that allowed two runs to score. Jessica Forneiro followed with an RBI single up the middle before Regis escaped the inning with a double play by Madi Zancan (Cumberland, R.I.).

The Pride broke through in the bottom of the fifth, scoring two runs to stay alive.

In the sixth, Patles knocked a single down the left field line to bring in another run, cutting the deficit to five.

The Wildcats put the game out of reach in the seventh, adding four more runs to secure the 12-3 victory.
Game Two:

The Wildcats scored one run in the top of the first however two fielder's choice plays from Mel Rees (Middleborough, Mass.) at the plate would prevent the Wildcats from increasing its lead.

After nearly five scoreless innings, the Wildcats scored one run with two outs in the top of the 7th after a single by Forneiro granted Rachel Gosselin with the opportunity.

The Pride ultimately could not overcome the Wildcats, resulting in a close 2-0 final.

Patles led the Pride in Game One, going 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, while Bianca Burke (Cambridge, Mass.) also added an RBI.

Patles' double marked a career high, bringing her season total to three.
