Regis vs. Emmanuel

  • The host school came out strong, taking an early 6-2 lead before a kill from Valdes stopped their momentum. The Pride stuck around, eventually tying the game at 16 after a block and service ace by Valdes. However, the Saints limited Regis to just four more points in the set, securing a 25-20 victory in set one.
  • Fueled by four kills from Valdes, the Pride went on an 8-3 run to tie set two at nine. However, the Saints quickly responded with a seven-point streak, taking an 18-10 lead. That momentum carried them to a 25-18 win, putting them just one set away from securing the match.
  • Neither team could build a lead larger than three points to start the third set until a 4-0 run by the Saints gave them an 18-13 advantage. The Pride, however, continued to battle, closing the gap to within one on three separate occasions before a Saints' error deadlocked the set at 23. The stalemate forced timeout from the home team where the regroup worked in their favor, as they scored two unanswered points to win the set 25-23 and complete the 3-0 match sweep.

Regis vs. Elms

  • The Pride took the lead from the start, and a 5-2 run, highlighted by three kills, gave them a 17-12 advantage. They sealed the set with two kills each from Watt, Valdes, and Nangle, leading them to a 25-17 victory in set one.
  • The Pride took control early and found themselves doubling up the Blazers, 18-9, after a kill from Robert Burch (Coxsackie, N.Y.). After trailing by seven, the Blazers made one final push, scoring seven unanswered points to tie the set at 21. Elms would tie the set again at 22, but the Pride answered with three unanswered points to secure the 25-22 victory in set two.
  • After seven ties and four lead changes, a 6-1 run by the Blazers put them ahead 21-18, where they would maintain a slight lead. However, a kill from Bonica sparked the Pride to three unanswered points, reclaiming the lead at 25-24. Robert Burch then supplied the game-winner, sealing the Pride's 3-0 match victory.
