Three Lacrosse Players Represent Regis on NEILA All-Academic Team

2022-23 NEW ENGLAND INTERCOLLEGIATE LACROSSE ASSOCIATION (NEILA) ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Recent Regis College graduates Jack Crater (Welcome, N.C.) and Ryan Richardson (Corona, Calif.) as well as graduate student Aidan Martin (Cutchogue, N.Y.) represent the Pride men's lacrosse program on the 2022-23 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Division III All-Academic Team, announced Friday, June 23, by the coaches' organization.

Members of the NEILA All-Academic Team are nominated by head coaches in Divisions I, II and II, and are student-athletes who have excelled both in the classroom and on the field over the course of their men's lacrosse career. Nominees must have senior or graduate student standing, a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, and be an impact player for their team.

One of the team captains in 2022-23, Crater started 12 matches and appeared in two other contests for the Pride in the defensive end of the field, collecting 33 groundballs and earning 14 caused turnovers, matching his total for the 2022 season. He finished with four groundballs and two caused turnovers at Johnson & Wales March 18, plus he gathered four groundballs against Saint Joseph's College April 25.

Richardson, also a team captain for 2022-23, started all 14 matches for the Pride and led the team with 14 assists to go along with 11 goals for 25 total points. He opened the season with a hat trick in Regis' 11-6 victory at MCLA March 5, and then he dished out five assists as the team defeated future conference foe Mitchell March 8, 14-3.

Martin returned to the Regis program to complete his eligibility, starting all 14 matches and accumulating 27 groundballs and 13 caused turnovers. He scored his first career goal against Norwich April 1, plus he earned four groundballs and three caused turnovers, plus he picked up a season-high five groundballs at University of Saint Joseph April 7.

Earlier this month, all three student-athletes were named to the 2022-23 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Academic All-Conference Team. Crater received his bachelor's degree in secondary education and humanities, Richardson completed his bachelor's degree in criminal justice, and Martin entered the master's degree program in strategic sports communication.

Regis College sponsors 20 intercollegiate sports, including men's lacrosse, within NCAA Division III as a member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.
