Men's Lacrosse Shutdown by Hartford

WESTON, Mass. - Regis College was defeated, 16-2, in a non-conference men's lacrosse matchup Wednesday night at Regis Stadium.

Regis scored early in the game when Nick Klein (Buxton, Maine) found Evan Azary (Shelton, Conn.), who scored to put the Pride on top, 1-0, just minutes into the first quarter.

Regis scored its second goal when Brendan Cook (Billerica, Mass.) beat a Hartford defender and scored an unassisted goal late in the second quarter.

Robby Fuller (Wolfeboro, N.H.) played the majority of the game in goal for the Pride, making 20 saves, while Andrew Leibold and Cole Zering split time in net for Hartford, each of them finishing with six saves.

John Furino led the Hawks with six goals and two assists, while Aidan Kemp and Eric Kelly finished with four goals apiece, with Kemp also adding two assists. Nick Grant and Mason Mo also scored goals, while Derek McLean earned his first assist of the season.

Regis College (3-9, 0-8 GNAC) plays the penultimate game of the 2023 season at Albertus Magnus on Saturday, April 22, beginning at 1 p.m. before returning home for the final game of the year against Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Tuesday, April 25, starting at 7 p.m.
