Men’s Lacrosse Battles Lasell in Senior Day Matchup

WESTON, Mass. - Regis College battled neighboring school Lasell University, but the Lasers used their offensive attack to defeat the Pride, 17-2, Saturday afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's lacrosse match at Regis Stadium.

Jack Tauson scored the first of his three goals less than three minutes into the contest as the Lasers ended up with five first quarter goals, three of them coming from Ryan Stone. Tauson completed his hat trick one minute into the second quarter as Lasell collected five goals from five different players in the period to take a 10-0 lead into halftime.

The Regis defense prevented Lasell from scoring through the final eight minutes of the first half and for over eight minutes to begin the second half before Adam Haytayan earned his second goal of the afternoon. The Pride finally broke through on the scoreboard as Nick Klein (Buxton, Maine) notched an unassisted tally with 42 seconds remaining in the third period.

The Pride picked up another goal in the fourth quarter when Connor Deveau (Harwich, Mass.) scored his sixth goal of the season. The Lasers closed out the scoring late in the match on consecutive goals by Kieran Oliver 47 seconds apart.

Robby Fuller (Wolfeboro, N.H.) finished with a career-high 21 saves, the fourth-most in a single match in program history. Liam Hill earned his first victory of the season for the Lasers as he finished with seven saves and a .778 save percentage.

Before the match, senior Jack Crater (Welcome, N.C.) and Ryan Richardson (Corona, Calif.) were recognized in a Senior Day presentation.
