Regis Cross Country About to Embark on 2022 Season

2022 REGIS COLLEGE CROSS COUNTRY SCHEDULES - MEN | WOMEN

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College cross country team will begin practice Monday, Aug. 22, in preparation for a 2022 competition season that contains seven events on seven different courses.

For the fifth straight season, the Pride will open their competitive campaign with a short drive to the Nehoiden Golf Course in Wellesley, Mass., for the Wellesley College Invitational Friday, Sept. 2. The following week, Regis heads west to Northampton, Mass., for the Smith College Invitational Saturday, Sept. 10.

Regis' next two meets will be hosted by Little East Conference schools, starting with the UMass Dartmouth Invitational at the Robert Dowd Cross Country Course in Dartmouth, Mass., Saturday, Sept. 17. Two weeks later, the Pride will head north to the Owl Athletic Complex in Keene, N.H., for the Keene State College Invitational Saturday, Oct. 1.

After competing at Franklin Park in Boston three times in 2021, the Pride will see that course just once this year for the Suffolk Invitational Saturday, Oct. 15.

Just as in 2018 and 2019, Regis will head to Maine for both championship meets, starting with the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Cross Country Championships Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Saint Joseph's College Cross Country Trail in Standish, Maine. The season concludes Saturday, Nov. 12, with the NCAA Division III Cross Country East Regional, hosted by Bowdoin College at the Pickard Field Cross Country Course.

In 2021, the women's team finished third at the GNAC Championships and 18th at the NCAA East Regional, while the men's team placed fourth at the conference championships.

Regis College sponsors 20 intercollegiate sports, including men's and women's cross country, within NCAA Division III as part of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.
