Women's Lacrosse Concludes 2024 Season

STANDISH, Maine – Regis College saw its 2024 season come to an end as Saint Joseph's College defeated the Pride, 14-6, Saturday afternoon in a quarterfinal match of the 2024 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Lacrosse Tournament at the SJC Athletics Complex.

After over five minutes of scoreless action to start the match, Taylor Dumond scored the first two goals for the Monks to give the home team a lead it would not relinquish. Carson Battaglia scored twice in the span of three minutes late in the first period and Dinah Wadleigh added a goal to give Saint Joseph's a 5-0 lead after one period.

The Monks scored two goals with a player advantage early in the second quarter to extend their lead to 7-0. With less than four minutes remaining in the first half, the Pride finally broke through as Madeline Conover (West Newbury, Mass.) scored on a free position opportunity, followed by a goal from Molly Higgins (Weymouth, Mass.) off an assist from Kylee Marley (Westerly, R.I.) 43 seconds later.

Saint Joseph's outscored Regis in the third quarter, 5-1, and then scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter. The Pride closed out the match with three straight goals, the first by Marley before Hope Alto (Boston, Mass.) connected on back-to-back tallies.

Regis College concludes the 2024 season with a 9-8 overall record.
