Pride Soccer Teams Welcome New Assistant Coaches

WESTON, Mass. - The Regis College soccer teams have both added to their coaching staffs with a new assistant coach for each squad beginning in the 2021-22 academic year.

Michael Haley was a four-year letterwinner for the Merrimack College men's soccer team, appearing in 40 matches, including seven starts, as a defender. He received his first career start during his junior season at Saint Michael's Sept. 12, 2017. In Merrimack's 1-0 victory over Stonehill later that season, he took three shots, including two shots on goal. Haley started six matches during his senior season, collecting four total shots. Haley graduated from Merrimack in 2019 with his bachelor's degree in finance and is pursuing his master's degree in strategic sports communication at Regis.

Larissa Perez returns to the Regis College women's soccer program as an assistant coach after joining the Pride as a student-athlete in 2018 and appearing in nine matches during that season. She helped the Pride defense notch shutouts against Anna Maria and Rivier. She played in 18 matches during the 2019 season, making the first of 13 starts in Regis' 3-2 victory over Curry. Perez was in the starting lineup for the team's shutouts against Rivier, Anna Maria, and Emmanuel, helping the squad qualify for the 2019 GNAC Tournament. A three-time Academic All-GNAC selection, Perez completed her bachelor's degree in psychology in December 2020 and is pursuing her master's degree in mental health counseling.

The soccer teams will be returning to campus within the next week to begin their preseason practices in preparation for the fall 2021 season.
