Regis College junior swimmer Kiet Luong (Malden, Mass.) has been named this week's Regis College Student-Athlete of the Week having a strong weekend in the pool at the 2015 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Invitational.

During the first day of the invitational, Luong broke a pair of his own GNAC records with a time of 51.47 in the 100 yard butterfly and 2:00.42 in the 200 yard backstroke. His time in the backstroke also set a Regis school record.

On day two, he set four GNAC records, one school record and earned six All-Invitational Honors. Luong set the GNAC record in the 100 fly (51.47), 200 back (2:00.42), 100 individual medley (54.30), which was also a school best and the 50 back (24.51). Luong was part of the 200 medley relay squad with Bryan Johnson (Sudbury, Mass.), Nick Rainville (Reading, Mass.) and Cassidy Bastianelli (Newton, Mass.) that set the conference record in 1:39.21. Luong teamed up with Rainville, Johnson and Bastianelli again to earn All-Invite honors in the 400 free relay with a GNAC record time of 3:18.35.

The Crimson and Gold return to the pool on January 16th when they welcome Colby-Sawyer to campus for an 11:00 a.m. meet.
