Kelley Twins End Collegiate Careers with Record-Setting Runs

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Ashleigh Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) and Erin Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) concluded their brilliant collegiate careers by breaking their own school records Friday evening as three members of the Regis College women's track and field team participated in the 2024 New England Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Mount Holyoke College.

First, in the 5000 meter run, Ashleigh Kelley finished in sixth place overall among the 21-runner field with a time of 18:02.92, over 14 seconds faster than her previous school record time established just three weeks ago at the Carla Coffey Invitational at Smith College. Kelley earned All-New England honors in track and field for the first time in her storied collegiate career as she lowered the school record for the third time since April 2023.

Erin Kelley, participating in the 10,000 meter run at the New England Championships for the third consecutive year, earned her best result in the event, crossing the finish line in 10th place amongst 24 finishers with a school-record time of 38:45.42. She completed the race over 55 seconds faster than the previous standard she posted at the Silfen Invitational at Connecticut College three weeks ago as she lowered the school record for the third time as well, first breaking the record in 2022 after it stood for 22 years.

Samantha Perkins (Whitman, Mass.), a two-time GNAC champion in the javelin throw, finished 18th overall in the event with a mark of 33.19 meters (108' 10") posted on her second attempt.

The 2024 outdoor season concludes for the Regis College women's track and field team with its third Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) title in outdoor track and field, joining the 2018 and 2019 championships.
