GNAC CHAMPIONS AGAIN!!!

WESTON, Mass. –  The Regis College Women's Track and Field team earned the title of Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Outdoor Track and Field Champions for the third time since 2018 as the 2024 GNAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships concluded Sunday at Regis Stadium. 

Ashleigh Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) led the Pride with two individual victories, finishing first in the women's 1500 meter run with a time of 5:11.39 and the women's 5000 meter run at 19:46.41. Erin Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) finished second in both events, posting times of 5:12.73 in the 1500 meter run and 19:49.16 in the 5000 meter run. 

Pilar Brown (Rockland, Mass.) won the shot put with a personal-best mark of 10.45 meters (34' 3.5"), with key points also coming from Kristin Barrett (Plymouth, Mass.) in fourth place at 9.86 meters (32' 4.25") and Samantha Perkins (Whitman, Mass.) in sixth place at 9.47 meters (31' 1"). 

In her final career collegiate race, Libby Parker (Bow, N.H.) won her first individual GNAC title, crossing the finish line first in the 3000 meter steeplechase in 13:22.69, followed by Elisa D'Sa (Bellmore, N.Y.) in second place in 13:30.39. The other event victory Sunday came in the 4x100 meter relay, as Olivia Dench (Center Moriches, N.Y.), Janet Amasa-Titus (Georgetown, Mass.), Colleen Curran (Woburn, Mass.), and Abby Kilbride (Peabody, Mass.) combined for a winning time of 51.43 seconds.  

Maddy Robertson (Athol, Mass.) and Anastazia Copeland (West Hartford, Conn.) finished second and third in the women's hammer throw, with Robertson posting a personal-best mark of 35.31 meters (115' 10") followed by Copeland at 33.60 meters (110' 3").  

Curran finished third in the 400 meter hurdles event while breaking the school record with a finishing time of 1:09.70. Amasa-Titus also established a new school record, finishing the 400 meter dash at 1:00.76 to place second and qualify for the New England Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.  

The Pride compiled 189 points, 13 points more than second place Emmanuel College. Saint Joseph's College finished with 129 points, while Colby Sawyer earned 82 points to stand in fourth place. Lasell earned 50 points, taking the fifth-place spot.  

Select individuals from the Regis College track and field team have qualified to compete at the New England Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships starting Friday, May 3, at Mount Holyoke College.
