Ashleigh Kelley, Riley Stogsdill Receive GNAC Weekly Honors

WINTHROP, Mass. - For the third time since the start of the calendar year, graduate student Ashleigh Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) has picked up a weekly conference award, as she has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Track Athlete of the Week, while first-year student-athlete Riley Stogsdill (San Diego, Calif.) collects GNAC Men's Rookie of the Week honors, as the first weekly honors for outdoor track and field were announced Monday, March 27, by the league office.

Kelley, the 2023 GNAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year, picked up right where she left off, topping all GNAC competitors in two events Saturday at the BSU Bears Invitational. She crossed the finish line in third place overall in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:04.62, just 71/100ths of a second behind the winner and 6/10ths of a second behind the second place finisher. She also finished 10th overall in the 800 meter run in 2:40.28.

Also at Bridgewater State Saturday, Stogsdill finished 10th overall in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:13.61 and 11th in the 200 meter dash in 24.12 seconds. He was the top finisher among GNAC competitors in the 800 meter run and second in the 200 meter dash. He also anchored the Regis 4x100 meter relay to an overall time of 47.33 seconds, finishing second in their heat.

The Regis College track and field team heads to Somerville, Mass., Saturday, April 1, for the Snowflake Classic hosted by Tufts University at the Ellis Oval beginning at 10 a.m.
