Erin Kelley Leads Pride with Second Straight Record-Breaking Performance

MIDDLETOWN, CONN. - Graduate student Erin Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) improved upon her school record in the 5000 meter run, highlighting the Regis College women's track and field team's performance at the Wesleyan Indoor Invitational Saturday at the Bacon Field House.

Kelley completed the 5000 meter run with a time of 18:55.66, over 15 seconds faster than the mark she posted just last week at the Branwen Smith-King Invitational and good enough for a second place finish. Libby Parker (Bow, N.H.) finished eighth in the event with a collegiate-best time of 21:50.94.

Ashleigh Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) finished second in the 1000 meter run with a time of 3:19.73, with Elizabeth Stevenson (Scituate, Mass.) completing the race in 3:50.37 to end up in seventh place. In the 800 meter run, Annabelle Jean-Philippe (Randolph, Mass.) cut almost four full seconds off her previous best, finishing fifth overall in 2:46.03, just ahead of Elisa D'Sa (Bellmore, N.Y.) in sixth place in 2:48.99.

Mikayla Francois (Walpole, Mass.) finished third in the 60 meter dash preliminaries in 8.51 seconds, third in the 60 meter hurdles preliminaries in 10.41 seconds, fifth in the finals of the 60 meter hurdles in 10.55 seconds, and fourth in the long jump with a mark of 4.41 meters (14' 5.75").

Emily Aho (Pelham, N.H.) also qualified for the 60 meter hurdles finals with a time of 11.65 seconds in the preliminaries, improved upon that time in the finals to finish seventh at 11.41 seconds, and placed third in the triple jump with a mark of 9.22 meters (30' 3").

Lily Belschner (Revere, Mass.) qualified for the finals of the 60 meter dash with a time in the preliminaries of 8.56 seconds, and then she finished fourth in the finals in 8.66 seconds. Belschner also won her heat of the 200 meter dash in 29.78 seconds, placing ninth overall, and she finished fifth in the long jump with a collegiate-best mark of 4.31 meters (14' 1.75").

Abby Kilbride (Peabody, Mass.) led the Pride with a fifth place finish in the 400 meter dash in 1:08.81 and an eighth place finish in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.72 seconds. She also anchored the 4x400 meter relay, teaming with Ashleigh Kelley, Jean-Philippe, and Alayja Linton (Nashua, N.H.) for an overall time of 5:03.80.

Elsewhere in the field events, Grace Micklon (Salem, N.H.) finished in a tie for fourth in the high jump after clearing 1.42 meters (4' 7.75"). In the throwing events, Pilar Brown (Rockland, Mass.) led the Pride in the shot put with a season-best mark of 9.39 meters (30' 9.75") to finish in seventh place, and Anastazia Copeland (West Hartford, Conn.) placed sixth overall in the weight throw with a top mark of 12.20 meters (40' 0.5").

The Regis College track and field team will now prepare for the 2023 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships, once again taking place at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center Sunday, Feb. 12, starting at 11 a.m.
