Regis Women’s Track and Field Opens 2022-23 Indoor Season

ROXBURY, Mass. - The Regis College women's track and field team started its 2022-23 indoor season by competing in the Suffolk University Relays Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Anastazia Copeland (West Hartford, Conn.) won the weight throw competition with a top mark of 12.74 meters (41' 9.75"), accomplished on her first throw of the event. Allie Sanidas (Ipswich, Mass.) finished seventh with a mark of 10.81 meters (35' 5.75") on her second throw, and Claudia Sevi (Sharon, Mass.) also qualified for the event finals and finished eighth with a mark of 10.30 meters (33' 9.5") on her sixth and final throw.

In the shot put, Kristin Barrett (Plymouth, Mass.) posted a mark of 9.73 meters (31' 11.25") on her fifth throw to finish sixth, while Tori Bradley (Dracut, Mass.) finished in eighth place after a toss of 9.19 meters (30' 2") on her first attempt.

Emily Aho (Pelham, N.H.) competed in the triple jump and posted a mark of 8.83 meters (28' 11.75") on her third attempt to finish in 11th place. Grace Micklon (Salem, N.H.) started her collegiate career with a 12th place finish in the high jump after clearing 1.40 meters (4' 7").

On the track, the quartet of Libby Parker (Bow, N.H.), Abby Kilbride (Peabody, Mass.), Annabelle Jean-Philippe (Randolph, Mass.), and Erin Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) won the distance medley relay with a time of 14:42.16. Kilbride also posted Regis' best time in the 200 meter dash at 29.65 seconds and completed the 60 meter dash in 8.79 seconds, 1/100th of a second off her collegiate-best time.

Also in the 60 meter dash, Mikayla Francois (Walpole, Mass.) finished in 21st place overall with a time of 8.62 seconds, followed by Lily Belschner (Revere, Mass.) in 26th place at 8.66 seconds. Aho competed in the 60 meter hurdles and posted a time of 11.84 seconds.

Regis College returns to action after the start of the new year, traveling to Gorham, Maine for the USM Open II hosted by University of Southern Maine Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, beginning at 12 p.m.
