WINTHROP, Mass. – Heading into the 2019 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships with record-breaking performances last weekend, sophomore Cole Anderson (Falmouth, Maine) and senior Fatima St. Hilaire (Dorchester, Mass.) have been named the GNAC Men's and Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week, announced Monday by the league office.

Anderson broke a school record and qualified for the Division III New England Championships at the Eastern Connecticut State Invitational Friday. He finished second in the discus throw with a top mark of 40.30 meters (132' 3"), 0.30 meters further than the previous standard he set last year. Anderson also finished third in the hammer throw at 38.80 meters (127' 3") and 13th in the shot put at 11.01 meters (36' 1.5").

St. Hilaire broke two school records and won two events outright Friday. For the fourth straight week, she lowered her school record time in the 100 meter dash, this time by 0.37 seconds as she posted a mark of 12.31 seconds, finishing second overall and first among collegiate competitors. St. Hilaire is now tied for 27th on the Division III performance list in the 100 meter dash with that time.

She also broke the school record in the 200 meter dash by 0.33 seconds with a time of 27.11 seconds, finishing fourth in that event. She won the long jump with a mark of 5.63 meters (18' 5.75") and the triple jump at 11.14 meters (36' 6.75").

Anderson earns his second career GNAC Athlete of the Week award, previously receiving recognition April 16, 2018. St. Hilaire picks up her fourth GNAC Athlete of the Week honor of the season, all coming in a row over the past four weeks.

Regis will host the GNAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships this weekend, starting Saturday afternoon, April 27, and continuing to a conclusion all day Sunday, April 28.
