
Regis Women’s Volleyball Names Captains for 2023 Season
WESTON, Mass. - The Regis College women's volleyball team has announced its captains for the upcoming year, with the Pride aiming to continue their momentum coming off consecutive 20-win seasons.
Rita Dow (Nashua, N.H.) returns to the program for her final year of eligibility after earning her bachelor's degree in marketing & communications and business management, receiving the Sloane School of Business and Communication Leadership Award. Dow was selected Second Team All-GNAC after leading the Pride with 227 kills as well as tying for the team lead with 83 total blocks in 2022. She is currently second on the Regis career hitting percentage list (.277) and fourth on the Pride career kills list (617).
Toni Ondris (Mineola, N.Y.) is also back for her last year of eligibility, collecting her bachelor's degree in marketing and communications and receiving the Crimson & Gold Tassel for service to Regis, commitment to the values of the Sisters of St. Joseph, and leadership of her class. Ondris is a two-time selection to the GNAC Women's Volleyball All-Sportsmanship Team, a three-time Academic All-GNAC honoree, and a member of the 2022-23 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
Kate Montigny (Shrewsbury, Mass.) enters her senior year after leading the team with a .256 hitting percentage, tying for the team lead with 83 total blocks, and finishing third on the squad with 201 kills in 2022. In 2021, she earned Second Team All-GNAC and GNAC All-Tournament Team recognition. Montigny enters the 2023 season third on the Regis career attack percentage list at .264 and ninth in career kills per set with 1.94 kills per set over the past two years.
Kamdyn Tenorio (Irvine, Calif.) comes into her junior year after earning Third Team All-GNAC and Honorable Mention All-NEWVA accolades in 2022. She led the Pride with 87 service aces, tied for third most in a season in program history, and 415 digs, sixth on the Regis single season list. Tenorio earned a career-high 30 digs in consecutive matches against Fisher Oct. 27 and at Norwich Oct. 29, plus she collected eight service aces against Albertus Magnus Sept. 24 and against Colby-Sawyer Oct. 11.
In 2022, the Regis women's volleyball team compiled a 20-13 overall record after going 23-8 in 2021, posting consecutive 20-win campaigns for the first time since 2014 and 2015. The Pride went 9-4 in conference play and qualified for the GNAC Tournament for the second consecutive season. Regis is scheduled for 15 league contests in 2023, the most in program history, after the addition of Mitchell College and New England College to the GNAC.
Regis College sponsors 20 intercollegiate sports, including women's volleyball, within NCAA Division III as a member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).
