PRIDE FALL TO HAWKS 9-0

Weston, Mass.--The Regis College women's tennis team lost to Roger Williams University Saturday (Sept. 18) by the score of 0-9. The Pride exits the contest with a record of 1-5 on the season while the Hawks improve to (4-2).

In singles the Hawks defeated the Pride in all six matches.  Junior Mary Jane Barron (Whitinsville, Mass./ Holy Name) played well but could not hold off the Hawks Libby Magner (Lakefield, Mass./Apponequet) losing the match (6-0, 6-1).

Leading the Hawks in doubles play was Libby Magner (Lakefield, Mass./Apponequet) and Alexa Reilly (North Easton, Mass./Oliver Ames) who won their match against the Pride's Teanna Montoya (Oak Bluffs, Mass./Martha's Vineyard Regional) and Mary Jane Barron (Whitinsville, Mass./ Holy Name) by the score of (8-0). Freshman Kunjan Patel (Waltham, Mass./Waltham) and Paige Paisley (Dorchester, Mass./Fontbonne Academy)  played well in their doubles match but could not hold off the Hawks duo of Kristin Dono (West Boylston, Mass. West Boylston) and Olivia Hilton (Vernon, Conn./Rockville) who won the match (8-2).

The Pride play their next match against Curry College (Sept. 21) at 3:30 pm.

The Hawks play against Salve Regina (Sept. 21) at 4:00 pm.
