PRIDE SET TO FACE HAWKS

Weston, Mass.---The Regis College women's tennis team is set to take on Roger Williams University Saturday (Sept. 18) at the Regis College Athletic Fields.  The Pride enter  the contest 1-3 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference after earning their first win of the season last week against Anna Maria College.  The Pride hope to continue their winning ways against the Hawks who stand at 3-1 in the TCCC.

Leading the Pride is junior captain Mary Jane Barron (Whitinsville, Mass./Holy Name) who played a great singles set last week winning (6-4, 6-2), helping the Pride in their win.  Freshman Teanna Montoya (Oak Bluff, Mass./Martha's Vineyard Regional) returns ready to play after a long set of matches last week.  Fellow freshman, Kunjan Patel (Waltham, Mass./Waltham) and Paige Pasley (Dorchester, Mass./Fontbonne Academy) look to continue with their strong doubles play after an impressive (8-2) win in their match last week.

For the visiting Hawks, senior captain Leah Ribchinsky (Ivoryton, Conn./Valley Regional) leads the way with an overall  record of 2-1.  Junior Kristin Dono (West Boylston, Mass./West Boylston) enters the match undefeated in both doubles and singles with a record of 4-0. The Hawks enter the contest on a three game winning streak; posting wins over Gordon College and Anna Maria earlier this month.

The home contest is set to start at 1:00 pm and will be played at the Regis College Athletic Field.
