PRIDE FALL TO  LIONS 4-0

Weston, Mass.---The Regis College women's soccer team was defeated by Eastern Nazarene College Tuesday (Oct. 19) by the score of 4-0. The Pride moves to 3-13-1 overall on the season and are 0-10-1 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The visiting Lions move to 5-8-2 overall on the season and are (3-7-1) in TCCC play.

Leading the Pride on defense was goalkeeper Michaela Yebba (Wakefield, Mass. /Lynnfeild) who registered four saves in the first period of play. The Lions were led by Alexandra Polcari (Marshfield, Mass. / Marshfield) who was able to rifle the ball into the goal off of a pass from teammate Kara Webber (Marshfield, Mass. /Marshfield). The Pride continued to play aggressive defense with Kara Sharples (Pawtucket, R.I. /St. Raphael Academy) and Kelly Cadigan (Ware, Mass. /Granby) defending the Pride backfield. The Lions continued to challenge the Pride defense and were able to score when junior Jackie Greenwood (Halifax, Mass. /Halifax) who connected on a pass from Michaela Dimos (Rayham, Mass. /Rayham) to find the back of the net. This made the score 2-0 in favor of the Lions.

In the second period the Lions were led by Holly Weaver (Gouverneur, N.Y.) who scored on a pass from Morgan Goodney (East Greenwich, RI).  The Pride continued to attack in the Lions offensive end but could not capitalize. The final goal of the game was scored by Goodney on a pass from teammate Jillian Thornton (Gulderland, NY).

The Pride is set to take on Colby Sawyer in their next game which is on Saturday ( Oct. 23)

The visiting Lions next matchup is against Roger Williams which is scheduled to be played on Saturday (Oct. 23)
