Audrey Mason Selected GNAC WLAX Rookie of Week

WINTHROP, Mass. - For the second time in three weeks, first-year midfielder Audrey Mason (West Springfield, Mass.) has been selected the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week, announced Monday, April 8, by the league office.

Last Tuesday at Johnson and Wales, the current leader in the GNAC South Division, Mason scored two goals and collected five groundballs. Saturday against Elms, she earned her third hat trick of the season with three goals, plus she dished out one assist, picked up a season-high six groundballs, corralled three draw controls, and finished with three caused turnovers as the Pride defeated the Blazers.

So far this season, Mason has started all 11 matches for the Pride and earned 14 goals, 11 assists, 36 groundballs, 34 draw controls, and 18 caused turnovers. She is first on the team in assists, groundballs, and caused turnovers, second in draw controls, and fourth in goals.

Mason was previously named GNAC Rookie of the Week March 25 after back-to-back hat tricks against Mitchell and at Albertus Magnus.

Regis College (7-4, 3-3 GNAC) makes the short trip to Newton, Mass., to face Lasell University Tuesday night, April 9, starting at 7 p.m. The Pride then travel to Colby-Sawyer College Saturday, April 13, before closing the regular season with three straight home matches.
