WINTHROP, Mass. - One of the sparks for Regis College as it extended its winning streak to five matches over the past week, first-year midfielder Audrey Mason (West Springfield, Mass.) has been selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week, announced Monday, March 25, by the league office.

Mason notched her first career collegiate hat trick last Wednesday against Mitchell as she scored three goals, plus she collected eight draw controls as the Pride won 21 of 27 draw controls during the match. She was efficient with her shots, as all three shots she took went into the net, including two goals in the first quarter as well as her third tally just 48 seconds into the fourth period.

Saturday at Albertus Magnus, Mason once again earned a hat trick with three goals, all scored during the first quarter, plus she dished out two assists in the same period as the Pride established a double-digit advantage. In addition, Mason tied her season high with five groundballs, collected four draw controls, and earned six caused turnovers, just one away from the program single-match record.

For the season, Mason leads the Pride with 10 assists, 23 groundballs, and 14 caused turnovers, plus she has scored nine goals for 19 total points and earned 27 draw controls. She has played a major role in Regis' current five-match winning streak, the team's longest winning streak since the 2019 season.

This is the first weekly award in Mason's career and the first GNAC weekly award for the Pride in over two years, since March 14, 2022.

Regis College (6-1, 2-0 GNAC), currently tied for the lead in the GNAC South Division, will face Emmanuel College (4-4, 2-0 GNAC), tied atop the GNAC North Division, Tuesday, March 26, starting at 6 p.m. at Regis Stadium.
