Women's Lacrosse Bested by SJC

STANDISH, Maine - Regis College was defeated by Saint Joseph's College of Maine, 17-3, Wednesday night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference women's lacrosse action at the SJC Athletics Complex.

Kylee Marley (Westerly, R.I.) put the Pride on the board late in the second quarter, scoring an unassisted goal with 2:28 remaining in the first half.

Regis scored again early in the third quarter when Madeline Conover (West Newbury, Mass.) found an open part of the net on a free position shot to score the second Pride goal of the contest.

The Pride's final goal came halfway through the fourth quarter when Serenity Ayala (North Brookfield, Mass.) scored off a pass from Maddey Strickland (Hopkinton, Mass.).

Daniela Mazo (Bridgeport, Conn.) made a career-high 18 saves in goal for the Pride, while Alexis Eldridge and Morgan Wright split time in net for the Monks, combining for seven total saves.

Bridget Collins led Saint Joseph's with five goals and one assist, while Lydia Dexter added four goals and two assists. Carson Battaglia completed the hat trick with three goals, while Shauna Clark finished with two goals and three assists. Mackenzie Siebert was another major contributor for the Monks with one goal and three assists.

Regis College (5-7, 3-6 GNAC) hosts Lasell on Saturday, April 15, for Senior Day beginning at 12 p.m.
