Women's Lacrosse Overwhelmed by Johnson & Wales

WESTON, Mass. - Regis College was defeated, 15-3, by Johnson & Wales University in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's lacrosse game Sunday afternoon at Regis Stadium.

After being held scoreless in the first quarter, the Pride got on the board when Mia Rogers (Revere, Mass) scored off a free position shot after a foul by the Wildcats.

Regis outscored the visitors, 2-1, in the third quarter, scoring unassisted goals on free position shots by Morgan Pero (Hartford, Vt.) and Madeline Conover (West Newbury, Mass.)

Daniela Mazo (Bridgeport, Conn.) made 10 saves in goal for the Pride, while Emma Glyman made three saves in the win for Johnson & Wales.

Taina Gamory led the Wildcats with three goals and six assists, while Maris DiBeneditto finished with three goals and three assists and Katie Sloan added three goals and one assist. Madeleine Gould and Ally Wilson both scored twice, while Gould added one assist. Izzy Babb finished with one goal and one assist and Margaret Johnson added one goal.

Regis College (5-5, 3-4 GNAC) next hosts Colby-Sawyer on Wednesday, April 5, beginning at 7:00 p.m. before going on the road to Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Wednesday, April 12, starting at 6:00 p.m. Johnson & Wales next plays on Wednesday, April 5, in a home game against Emmanuel at 4:00 p.m.
