Women's Lacrosse Bested by Simmons

WESTON, Mass. - Regis College was defeated, 20-3, by Simmons University Wednesday afternoon at Regis Stadium.

Regis scored its first goal of the game in the third quarter when the Pride took advantage of a Simmons penalty as Abbie Doheny ( Lunenburg, Mass.) scored an unassisted, man-up goal to put the Pride on the board.

Regis scored twice in the fourth quarter with Madeline Conover (West Newbury, Mass.) scoring an unassisted goal and Mia Rogers (Revere, Mass. ) finding the net on a free-position shot.

Daniela Mazo (Bridgeport, Conn.) finished the night with 10 saves in net for the Pride while Katie Castle earned her third win, finishing with two saves on the game for Simmons.

Marita Nothacker led the Sharks with five goals while Maddie Desimio-Maloney added four. Abby Stoller finished with three goals and two assists while Riley Campbell and Sammi Hogan both scored twice with Hogan also contributing two assists. Julia Chausse and Frida Turriza also finished with one goal each with Chausse adding three assists.

Regis College (3-2, 2-2 GNAC) hosts Fitchburg State on Friday, March 24, beginning at 4:00 p.m. while Simmons hosts Dean on Saturday, March 25, starting at 1:00 p.m.
