REGIS DRAWS MIT IN NCAA TOURNAMENT

WESTON, Mass. - The Regis College women's lacrosse team will take on MIT in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, May 9. The game will be played at Middlebury College, with the winner taking on the host Panthers on Sunday, May 10.

The Pride (13-5) earned their first bid to the NCAA Tournament after winning their third-straight New England Collegiate Conference Championship on Sunday afternoon. The Pride defeated Elms College, 18-4, and then Wheelock College, 18-6, en route to the title. Sam Salamone (Milford, Mass.) was named the Tournament MVP after scoring 11 goals and adding two assists in the postseason.

MIT (16-2) secured their first NCAA Tournament appearance after winning the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) on Sunday. The Engineers defeated Springfield College, 11-10, in the Championship, as Katie Notarangelo (Foxboro, Mass.) netted the game-winner in the final minute of the game.

This marks the first meeting between these two schools in the sport of women's lacrosse.
