PRIDE STAY PERFECT IN NECC WITH WIN OVER MITCHELL

WESTON, Mass. – 11 different players registered a goal as the Regis College women's lacrosse team defeated Mitchell College, 19-4, on Thursday night in New England Collegiate Conference action in Weston, Mass. The Pride improve to 10-5 overall and 6-0 in the NECC with the win, while Mitchell drops to 0-10 and 0-6 in league games.

The Pride took a 13-0 lead into the half and never looked back as they added six goals in the second frame. Mitchell showed some fight in the second half as Amanda Rowan (Sandy Hook, Conn.) netted a pair of goals for the Mariners, with Deborah Lee (Glen Cove, N.Y. ) and Tiana Fillmore (Norwich, Conn.) adding the other tallies.

Sam Salamone (Milford, Mass.) led the Pride attack with four goals and an assist, with Grace Politis (Billerica, Mass.) adding three goals and two assists for five points of her own. Nicole Roche (Waltham, Mass.) added a hat trick and an assist, while Katie Haidemenos (Warwick, R.I.) scored twice and had an assist. Julia Jones (Revere, Mass.), Arianna Woodley (Norwood, Mass.), Sierra Luce (Hartford, Vt.), Mary Roma (Portland, Maine), Danielle Aguinaldo (Malden, Mass.), Ashley Ryan (Mashpee, Mass.), and Linsay Bumila (Raynham, Mass.) added the other goals for Regis.

Defensively, Emma Decker (Southborough, Mass.) picked up her 10th win of the year while making three saves. Grace Politis added five groundballs, three draw controls, and a pair of caused turnovers. Mary Roma added three groundballs, while Meghan Stanton (Walpole, Mass.) also had a pair of caused turnovers.

For Mitchell, Taylor Dansereau (Griswold, Conn.) made seven stops in net in the setback. Amanda Rowan and Samantha Ryan (Quaker Hill, Conn.) had two draw controls apiece, with Ryan leading the defense with four groundballs and a pair of caused turnovers.

The Crimson and Gold will try and lock up the No. 1 seed in the NECC Tournament on Saturday afternoon when they host Wheelock College as a part of Senior Day at 4:00 p.m. Mitchell travels to Daniel Webster College on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. NECC contest.
