HAT TRICKS POWER PRIDE PAST RAIDERS

NASHUA, N.H. – The Regis College women's lacrosse team used three goal efforts from four different players as they defeated non-conference opponent Rivier University 13-9 on Sunday evening at Raider Field. With the win, the Pride improve to 8-5 on the season and with the loss the Raiders drop to 4-12.

Regis never trailed the whole contest as they held the lead for the whole game.

The Pride opened the scoring with three straight goals as senior attack Katie Haidemenos (Warwick, R.I.) scored the first goal. Junior midfielder Sam Salamone (Milford, Mass.) followed her teammate a few seconds later with her first tally of the contest. Teresa Busiek (Arlington, Mass.) ended the scoring binge for Regis and put them up 3-0 early.

Teams would trade goals throughout the first half as Rivier would head into the half down 6-3 as junior midfielder Jocelyn Park would cut the deficit by converting a free position shot.

The Raiders would open the half with two straight goals to cut the lead to one, but the Pride would answer as they scored four of the next five goals and held a comfortable lead during the second half.

Sam Salamone, Katie Haidemenos, Teresa Busiek and Grace Politis (Billerica, Mass.) all scored three goals apiece and paced the Pride offensive attack. Salamone, Busiek and Haidemenos also added assists during their strong offensive days.

Freshman defender Linsay Bumila (Raynham, Mass.) added a goal and goaltender Emma Decker (Southborough, Mass.) moved to 8-5 on the season after making four saves.

The Crimson and Gold return to action on Tuesday for their final road game at Elms with game-time slated for 7:00 p.m.
