WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College women's lacrosse team shutout New England Collegiate Conference foe Daniel Webster 19-0 on Thursday evening in a cold and rainy game played at Regis Stadium. The victory improves the Pride's record to 6-4, 3-0 NECC on the season and the Eagles drop to 0-6, 0-3 NECC with the loss.

The Crimson and Gold got off to a fast start scoring four goals during the first two minutes of play. Senior midfielder Teresa Busiek (Arlington, Mass.) opened up the scoring 30 seconds into the game when she made a cut from the left and bounced a shot past Eagles goalie Kassandra Scanlon-Napier (Bowmanville, Ontario).

20 seconds later Sam Salamone (Milford, Mass,) passed the ball in front of the goal to senior attack Katie Haidemenos (Warwick, R.I.) who backed in her defender and ripped a shot that went top shelf into the net.

Haidemenos then assisted on the next goal when she passed the ball to the top to a waiting Grace Politis (Billerica, Mass.). Politis then cranked back a shot from 12 yards out that went past the keeper and improved the Pride's lead to 3-0 early on.

Sam Salamone capped off the scoring binge after she won a draw from midfield, streaked down the field, beat her defender and fired a low shot that increased the Pride advantage.

Regis scored 13 goals during the first half of play and their defense denied Daniel Webster a shot attempt during the opening half.

The Eagles had a few scoring chances during the second half of play but were stifled each time. Freshman midfielder Amanda Dargie (Melbourne, Fla.) had the best opportunity of the day for Daniel Webster. Dargie came from the top, lost her two defenders and fired a shot high that hit the crossbar. The Eagles retained possession and had a few more chances but were turned away by Pride goalie Emma Decker (Southborough, Mass.) each time.

Sam Salamone, Nicole Roche (Waltham, Mass.) and Danielle Aguinaldo (Malden, Mass.) each recorded a hat trick for Regis. Teresa Busiek and Sierra Luce (Hartford, Vt.) scored two goals apiece. Sashae Walls (Everett, Mass.), Julia Jones (Revere, Mass.) Ashley Ryan (Mashpee, Mass.) and Rachel Gagnon (Ashford, Conn.) all added a goal each. Meghan Stanton (Walpole, Mass.) recorded a game-high six groundballs and Emma Decker made three saves and improved to 6-4, 3-0 NECC on the year.

For the Eagles, Mackenzie Stone (Shelton, Conn.) led the team in groundballs with five while Amanda Dargie (Melbourne, Fla.) recorded two shots. Kassandra Scanlon-Napier recorded a game-high 11 saves during the contest.

The Pride continue their conference slate of games when they travel to Bay Path University on Saturday for a 12:00 p.m. game and the Eagles head back home for a three game home stand with the first game against Elms at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
