PRIDE UNANIMOUSLY CHOSEN AS PRESEASON FAVORITES

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College women's lacrosse team was unanimously chosen to finish first as the 2015 New England Collegiate Conference women's lacrosse preseason polls were announced last week.

Regis, the back to back NECC champions, who are managed by reigning NECC and Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III Pilgrim Region Coach of the Year Courtney Duggan look to capture a third straight conference title. Returning for the Pride is NECC Goalkeeper of the Year Emma Decker (Southborough, Mass.), who was also named to the NECC First Team and looking to build upon her strong sophomore campaign. Other notable returners include senior Grace Politis (Billerica, Mass.), junior Sam Salamone (Milford, Mass.), and junior Mary Roma (Portland, Maine) who also joined their teammate on the NECC All-First Team.

Rounding out the polls are Becker College and Wheelock College who received 42 points and the second and third spot, Elms earned the fourth overall ranking with 36 points. Mitchell received the fifth ranking with 24 points. Bay Path earned 13 points and the six spot while Southern Vermont (nine points) and Daniel Webster (two points) rounded out the polls.
