DUGGAN NAMED IWLCA PILGRIM REGION COACH OF THE YEAR

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College head women's lacrosse coach Courtney Duggan has been named the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III Pilgrim Region Coach of the Year, it was announced Monday morning.

Duggan helped lead the Pride to a 14-3 overall record and the Pride's second-straight New England Collegiate Conference Championship. The Pride's 14-3 mark, and 5-0 record in the NECC regular season, was a program record for wins in a season, as well as the program's best winning percentage (.824).

Duggan was previously named the NECC Coach of the Year after the Pride led the NECC in goals (250), assists (98), points (348), groundballs (503), draw controls (224), and goals against average (8.42). In seven games versus NECC teams this season, the Pride outscored opponents 118-45, en route to their second-straight Championship.

The Pride had four players named to the All-NECC First Team, including Goalkeeper of the Year Emma Decker (Southborough, Mass.). Grace Politis (Billerica, Mass.), Sam Salamone (Milford, Mass.), and Mary Roma (Portland, Maine) were also First Team selections.

Other coaches honored regionally by the IWLCA included Amherst College's Chris Paradis, The College of New Jersey's Sharon Pfluger, Salisbury University's Jim Nestor, SUNY Cortland's Kathy Taylor, Augustana College's Sara Tisdale, Cabrini College's Jackie Neary, and Colorado College's Susan Stuart.
