DUGGAN NAMED COACH OF THE YEAR, DECKER GOALIE OF THE YEAR

WESTON, Mass. – First year head coach Courtney Duggan has been named the New England Collegiate Conference's Coach of the Year and sophomore goalie Emma Decker (Southborough, Mass.) was named the NECC Goalkeeper of the Year, it was announced on Monday morning by the league offices. Voting was conducted amongst the league's head coaches.

Decker was also named to the All-NECC First Team and was joined by junior Grace Politis (Billerica, Mass.), sophomore Sam Salamone (Milford, Mass.), and sophomore Mary Roma (Portland, Maine) as All-Conference First Team selections.

Duggan helped lead the Pride to their second-straight NECC Championship this past weekend and a perfect 5-0 mark in conference games. Regis set a new program record for wins in a season, going 14-3, and the team's .824 winning percentage was also a program best.

Emma Decker, a 2013 Honorable Mention selection, backstopped the Pride with 31 saves and a .525 save percentage, while allowing just 5.60 goals against in conference play this season. Overall, Decker made 157 saves for a .530 save percentage and allowed just 8.22 goals against in 1,015:07 minutes played. She posted seven games of 10+ saves this year and made six in the NECC Championship game.

Junior co-captain Grace Politis was named to the All-NECC First Team for the second-straight season after posting 10 goals, five assists, 17 groundballs, 13 draw controls, and seven caused turnovers during NECC games. Overall, Politis scored 50 goals, including her 200th career goal this year, and added 20 assists, 58 groundballs, 37 draw controls, and 26 caused turnovers.

Salamone had another monster season for the Pride after being named the league's Rookie of the Year last season. The sophomore led the NECC in goals (64), points (81), and groundballs (68), while finishing seventh in draw controls (55). During conference games, she had 15 goals, three assists, 16 groundballs, 14 draw controls, and five caused turnovers.

Rounding out the All-Conference selections from the sophomore class was Mary Roma. Roma helped backstop a defense that led the league in goals against en route to an unblemished 5-0 mark. During conference games, Roma had a goal, two assists, 12 groundballs, 12 draw controls, and three turnovers. Overall this year, the sophomore had two goals, three assists, 44 groundballs, 28 draw controls, and 15 caused turnovers.
