WOMEN'S LACROSSE CLINCHES TOP SEED IN NECC TOURNAMENT

WESTON, Mass. - For the second straight year, the Regis College women's lacrosse team has picked up the number one seed in the upcoming New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Tournament after an unblemished 5-0 record in league play. The Pride, who sit at 12-3 overall, will host No. 4 seeded Elms College at 7 p.m. on Wednesday for the NECC Semifinals.

Earlier this season, Regis knocked off the Blazers in Chicopee, Mass. by a score of 12-5. Junior attack Katie Haidemenos (Warwick, R.I.) paced the Pride offense with three goals, while Abbie Wehr (Suwanee, Ga.), Sam Salamone (Milford, Mass.), and Sashae Walls (Everett, Mass.) scored two goals apiece in the victory. Kathleen Tuechler (Farmingdale, N.Y.) led Elms with two goals in the losing effort. 

No. 2 seeded Wheelock College will host No. 3 seeded Becker College in the other NECC Semifinal, which will also be played at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Semifinal winners will advance to the NECC Championship, which is to be played at the highest remaining seed on Saturday, May 3rd at 1 p.m.
