CREVIER AND REGIS PREPARE FOR NOR'EASTERS

Weston, Mass.—Going into its upcoming conference match-up against the University of New England (8-2, 6-1 TCCC) Tuesday, Regis College (1-8, 0-6 TCCC) is coming off a 1-1 week. Having defeated Elms College Thursday, the Pride lost to a tough New England College program 21-4 Saturday.

Regis has been led in goals scored by sophomore Teresa Crevier (Milford, Mass.), and followed by Evonne Orozco (Waltham, Mass.). Crevier has scored a team-high 27 goals going into Tuesdays match-up versus UNE.

Orozco has posted seven goals for Regis, which is second to Crevier. The duo has been much of the offense for the Pride. Their shots on goal percentage are .847 and .923 respectively.

Freshman Ashley Hibbard (Marlboro, Mass.) chimes in with five goals, with a shooting percentage of .625.

The Nor’easters will enter the game with five talented scorers. Junior Danielle Cate has posted 44 goals for UNE, a team-high. Mallory Long, Cara Cole, and Jenna Barton enter the game with 18, 15, and 14 goals respectively.

With a varied attack, UNE will give the Regis defense trouble as the Nor’easters approach the net. Defensively, Regis has caused teams to turn the ball over just 59 times this season. UNE has caused 110 turnovers, the total number of turnovers for Regis.

Regis being able to capitalize on groundballs will make a difference in its Tuesday match-up. The team has scooped 145 groundballs, with Crevier and Hibbard collecting 35 and 20 respectively.

The Nor’easters have turned the ball over 229 times in 10 games. Keeping UNE contained in the first half will be essential for Regis. The Nor’easters have scored 71 goals in the first half, the Pride have scored just 23, and given up 84 goals in the first.

Tuesday will be a test for Regis College, and if it can capture a win versus a competitive program. The game will start at approximately 4:00 p.m. on the multi-purpose fields.
