CREVIER EXTINGUISHES BLAZERS WITH EIGHT GOALS

Weston, Mass.—Regis College (1-7, 0-5 TCCC) captured its first win of the 2010 season defeating Elms College (0-8, 0-2 NEWLA) 17-5 Thursday evening. Teresa Crevier (Milford, Mass.) led the Pride with a season-high eight goals.

Crevier has posted a total of 25 goals including her performance Thursday. Regis teammate Ashley Hibbard (Marlboro, Mass.) added three goals. Hibbard led the Pride in groundballs, collecting seven for Regis. Crevier snagged four groundballs, and led Regis in draw controls, winning four.

Although Regis jumped to an early lead against Elms, the Blazers’ Chelsey Grabowski (South Hadley, Mass.) made sure to rally her team to score a team-high four goals. Grabowski won three draw controls for the Blazers.

Katlyn Harrington (East Longmeadow, Mass.) added Elms fifth goal.

Teammate Sarah Picard (West Springfield, Mass.) grabbed three groundballs, while the team collected 12. Regis managed 19 shots against goalies Krystna Gagne (Methuen, Mass.) and Toni Martin (New Haven, Conn.).

The pair combined for just five saves. Regis keeper Jillian DeFransesco (Danvers, Mass.) had 12 saves against 17 shots. DeFransesco has 91 saves this season against 204 shots faced.

The Pride look to chalk up back-to-back to wins when it faces The Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent New England College Saturday, April 10 at 1:00 p.m. Elms takes the field April 10 at noon to face Worcester State College.
