WESTON, Mass. - Forwards Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) and Sam D'Angelo (Woburn, Mass.) both finished with double-doubles with Shannon Hayes (Billerica, Mass.) a rebound shy as the Regis (Mass.) women's basketball team picked up a 67-44 win over the University of Saint Joseph on Tuesday night at Higgins Court in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play.

With the win, the Pride improves to 10-7 on the season, 8-1 in the GNAC. St. Joseph drops below .500 to 7-8 on the year, and is now 2-5 on the season in conference play.

Neither team was able to muster much offense in the first quarter, which came to an end with the Pride ahead by a score of 11-10. The teams made only four field goals each in the period, with St. Joseph's Kayla Guest (Newington, Conn.) leading all scorers with six points.

The Pride began pulling away in the second quarter, outscoring the Blue Jays by a margin of 21-8 and shooting 53 percent (8-for-15) from the floor to take a 32-18 lead into the break. At the half, Stone was the game's leading scorer with 10 points, followed closely by teammates Hayes and D'Angelo with nine each.

An eight-point edge in the third quarter helped the Pride put the game out of reach entering the fourth quarter. Stone put home 12 points in the quarter, compared to just 13 combined from the Blue Jays. Chayla Louro (Randolph, Mass.) and Sydney Brennan (North Reading, Mass.) came off the bench and each hit fourth quarter threes to help the Pride seal the victory.

Stone finished with 26 points on 11-for-18 shooting and 13 rebounds to lead all players on the night in both categories. D'Angelo had a double-double of her own with 16 points and 11 boards, while Hayes recorded 13 points and nine rebounds. Senior Rajeen Mayo (Middletown, Conn.) was the Blue Jays' leading scorer, putting home 13 points on the evening.
