WESTON, Mass. - The Regis (Mass.) women's basketball team had four players in double figures on Thursday night as the Pride cruised to a 63-44 victory over Becker College at Higgins Court in New England Collegiate Conference action.

The Pride stays perfect at 15-0 in NECC play with the win (16-6 overall), while the Hawks drop to 11-4 in conference and 11-10 overall.

The Pride got out to a flying start, scoring the game's first 10 points to set the early tempo. When the buzzer sounded to end the first quarter, the Pride had jumped out to a 23-6 lead, thanks to a solid shooting performance in which the team hit 10 of its 18 field goals (55.6%).

Neither team could get much going offensively in the second quarter, which saw the teams shoot a combined 6-for-25 (24%) from the floor. Becker outscored the home team in the quarter 10-8, but still trailed the Pride 31-16 going into the locker room. Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) and Shannon Hayes (Billerica, Mass.) each had 10 points for the Pride in the opening 20 minutes to lead all scorers.

The second half started much like the first half did, with the Pride going on an early 7-0 run to jump out to a 38-16 lead with just over three minutes gone in the third quarter. The Pride outscored the Hawks 22-16 in the period to take a 53-32 lead into the final quarter.

A mirror image of the second quarter, neither team could generate much offense in the fourth. Becker sophomore Katey Anderson (Beachwood, N.J.) and Regis sophomore Melissa Rogers (Billerica, Mass.) provided the majority of the offense in the frame, as each player knocked down a pair of threes for their teams to highlight the fourth quarter.

Stone finished the night as the game's leading scorer with 14 points, while Rogers and sophomore Sam D'Angelo (Woburn, Mass.) had 11 each and Hayes 10 to round out the Pride's top scorers. Anderson and freshman guard Cassidy Harrison (Foxborough, Mass.) led the Hawks offensively with 10 points each.

The Pride will return to the floor on Saturday when they travel to Elms for a 1:00 p.m. matinee tip-off. Becker will be back in action the same day when they host Bay Path, also slated for a 1:00 p.m. tip.
