LEICESTER, Mass. - The Regis (Mass.) women's basketball team has displayed conference dominance rivaled by few others and tonight extended its own NCAA Division III conference win streak to a milestone 100 games in a 76-49 win at Becker in New England Collegiate Conference play Thursday at Leicester Gymnasium.

"Our 100th consecutive conference win highlights the consistency of our program, past and present, and I am proud of the team culture that has created this winning tradition," reflected Regis coach Angela Santa Fe, who is 60-0 in league play in her three-plus years at Regis. "During this streak we've exemplified mental toughness and hard work to overcome the pressures of having an "X" on our back. This is a milestone accomplished in our journey of striving to reach our team potential and focusing on the aspects of the game that translate to success on the court."

It was a special night for sophomore guard Melissa Rogers (Billerica, Mass.) as well who came off the bench to lead all Pride scorers with a career-high 18 points on 6-8 shooting. With the victory, Regis (7-5, 6-0 NECC) moves into sole possession of first place in the NECC standings. Becker (5-7, 5-1 NECC) slips into second.

Becker freshman guard Cassidy Harrison (Foxborough, Mass.) led the Hawks with a game-high 20 points, shooting a career-best five of six from behind the three-point arc. Sophomore guard Ciara McKissick (Charlton, Mass.) finished with seven points and four rebounds while freshman forward Sarah Ware (Oakham, Mass.) came off the bench to record six points and a career-high five steals.

Junior forward Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) finished with 16 points, nine rebounds and four blocks. Senior guard Mikayla Murphy (Attleboro, Mass.) scored nine points and dished out a game high five assists while sophomore forward Sam D'Angelo (Woburn, Mass.) scored seven points with six boards.

The opening minutes saw both teams trade baskets out of the gate. Harrison made two quick threes to put the Hawks up 6-4, and McKissick later put Becker up 8-6 on a layup. But that would be the hosts' final lead of the game as Regis soon pulled away.

In true fashion, Santa Fe was quick to make sure the team stayed grounded. "We celebrated our 100th win in the locker room after the game, but our team will wake up tomorrow morning eager to improve and prepare for Saturday."

Regis next hosts Elms College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with Becker taking on Bay Path College also on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
