PRIDE SOARS PAST EAGLES 56-42

Nashua – Stephanie Crawford notched a game-high 18 points and the Regis women's basketball team remained undefeated in conference play, posting a 56-42 victory over host Daniel Webster in a New England Collegiate Conference matchup Tuesday night at Mario Vagge Gymnasium.

Claire Ramos added a game-best 15 rebounds and scored six points while Janaya Bradley added 16 points off the bench as the Pride (7-3, 4-0 NECC) won for the fifth time in their last six outings and swept the regular season series from the hosts.

Alycia Gervais (Windham, Conn.) was the only player to reach double figures for the Eagles (5-5, 1-2 NECC) posting a double double of 14 points and 12 boards. Sarah Paternostro (Glastonbury, Conn.) added nine points while Kacie Lang (Raymond, N.H.) and Alyssa Marson (Bangor, Maine) added six points each.

Both teams shot 31-percent from the field and despite only a slight edge in rebounding for the Pride (44-42), Regis enjoyed a solid night around the rim, pulling down 16 offensive boards, outscored the Eagles decisively in the paint, 32-16 and helped force DWC into 26 turnovers with 15 steals leading to 23 points.

The Eagles struggled early and fell behind by as many as 15 (20-5) with 9:30 gone in the first period, but closed the half with a 10-2 run keyed by threes from Marson and Lang and a late jumper from Kirsten Murphy (Woodstock, Conn.) to close the gap to 28-23 at the break.

The Eagles stayed within striking distance trailing by 10 (41-31) after Gervais sank two at the stripe with 9:33 to go but two layups from Stefanie Wozmak (Auburn, N.H.) and a steal and layup from Crawford sparked a quick 8-0 run and the Eagles pulled no close than 10 down the stretch.

The Eagles play the last of their four-game home stand Thursday hosting Wheelock College in a NECC matchup at 6:00 p.m.

Regis hosts Elms Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in a matchup of NECC unbeatens.
