PRIDE CRUISE TO CONFERENCE VICTORY

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College raced out to a 30-1 lead and never looked back as the Pride defeated Lesley University, 77-26, on Saturday afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference women's basketball action in Weston, Mass. The Pride improves to 6-3 overall and 3-0 in the NECC while Lesley falls to 0-8 and 0-3 in league play.

Every Regis player registered at least two points and one rebound in the victory. Leah Murphy (Westborough, Mass.) led all scorers with 12 points while Emilee Marro (Bedford, N.H.) added eight points and a team-high 10 rebounds. Regis kept the Lynx off the scoreboard for the first 8:29 of game action before Emily Fleming (Medford, Mass.) knocked down one-of-two freethrows to make it a 23-1 game. Fleming added a three pointer to make it 30-4 and Carrie Fieger (Simsbury, Conn.) added four points of her own around another Lynx basket to make it a 37-10 game with 3:16 remaining. The Pride bench outscored Lesley 6-0 to end the half, giving Regis a 43-10 lead headed into the break.

The second half was much the same as Regis opened the frame on a 12-1 run before Fleming nailed a layup, leaving the Lynx facing a 55-13 deficit. That would be as close as Lesley would get as the Pride outscored the Lynx 34-16 in the frame and cruised to a 77-26 victory.

Emily Fleming led the Lynx with 11 points and also added six rebounds. Carrie Fieger chipped in with eight points while Grace Amato (Sharon, Vt.) came off the bench to score four points and grab a game-high 11 rebounds.
