WESTON, Mass. – Regis College sophomore Rachel DesRochers (Westford, Mass.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week while teammate Alexa NeJaime (Sandisfield, Mass.) has been named the Rookie of the Week in Softball; it was announced on Monday morning.

DesRochers raked at the plate for the Pride during their doubleheader sweep of Southern Vermont. She hit .857, and scored two runs. In the first game, a 5-2 Pride win, DesRochers went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a double. During the second game, a 14-3 Pride victory DesRochers continued her hot hitting by going 4-for-4 with a triple and three singles.

Nejaime hit .500 during the two games while crossing the plate once. During the first win against the Mountaineers, she went 1-for-3 reaching base via single. She had better success at the plate during the second game going 2-for-3 and drove in three RBIs.

The Pride will return to action this Friday, April 10th when the Crimson and Gold host conference foe Wheelock in Weston for a double-header with games at 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.
