PRIDE CHOSEN SIXTH IN NECC PRESEASON POLLS

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College softball team was chosen to finish sixth as the 2015 New England Collegiate Conference softball preseason polls were announced last week.

The Pride are looking to improve upon their 11-20, 8-10 NECC record last season with some new additions to the roster and some key returners. Junior infielder Alyssa McKinnon (Raynham, Mass.) and sophomore infielder Jenna Casello (Westborough, Mass.) both return to the squad after coming off NECC All-Second Team nods. Another notable returner is junior hurler Katie Cuozzo (Lynn, Mass.) who last year was named to the NECC All-Tournament Team.

Lesley University earned the top spot with 87 points and six first place votes. Elms College is projected to finish behind the Lynx after receiving two first place votes which amassed to 71 points. Rounding out the polls are Southern Vermont (39 points), Bay Path (34 points), Daniel Webster (16 points) and Wheelock (11 points).
