SOFTBALL SCHEDULE RELEASED

WESTON, Mass. – Second year head coach Nikki Panciocco is proud to announce the 2015 season schedule for the Regis College Softball team. The Pride will look to build upon three straight New England Collegiate Conference Postseason Tournament appearances including a trip to the NECC third round.

The Pride head down to South Carolina for a week for their spring training and will open up the season on the road in neutral sites. The Crimson & Gold play five games in three days. On Monday March 2nd Regis competes in their season opener with an 11:30 a.m. contest against Anna Maria in North Myrtle Beach, S.C. At the conclusion of that game the Pride will square off against Grove City at 1:30 p.m. The next day Regis will have a break from double-header action as they will play against Rosemont with first pitch set at 9:30 in the morning. The final games Regis will compete in during the spring break trip are versus Neumann on Wednesday the 4th at 9:30 a.m. and the Pride wrap up their South Carolina swing against Gwynedd Mercy with game-time slated for 1:30 p.m.

After a two week hiatus, the Crimson and Gold return to action on March 21st, when they host their home and NECC opener against Newbury with a double-header with games at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. The next day on the 22nd, the Pride travel to Mount Ida for a twinbill against the Mustangs with first pitch slated for 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. Regis stays on the road for their next contest four days later on Thursday, March 26th when they head out to Chestnut Hill, Mass. for a doubleheader against the Gators with game-time slated for 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.

The Crimson and Gold close out the month of March with two twinbill conference matchups in Weston. On March 28th, Regis hosts Wheelock at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. and a day later the Pride host a double-header against Elms with the first pitch at noon and 2:00 p.m.

Over the next two weeks, The Pride embark on a six team, 12 game road swing with all of the games during the road trip are double-headers. On Thursday April 2nd, the Crimson and Gold head up to Bennington, Vt. to square off against Southern Vermont at 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. After a six day layoff, the Pride will travel out west on Wednesday, April 8th to face non-conference foe Fitchburg State at 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. Regis continues traveling on Saturday, April 11th when they head down south to play Mitchell with first pitch at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.

The second half of the Crimson & Gold road trip begins on Tuesday, April 14th when the Pride head to Gordon College for a 3:30 and 5:30 twinbill with the Fighting Scots. Four days later, Regis heads out to Western Massachusetts to play Bay Path at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. The Pride wrap up their tough 12 game road trip with a double-header at Daniel Webster on April 19th with first pitch slated for 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.

Regis wraps up the regular season with six home contests against three different opponents. The Pride face Lesley on Tuesday, April 21st with the games set for 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. The Crimson and Gold welcome non-conference opponent Eastern Nazarene to campus the next day on April 22nd with a 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. start time. The Pride wrap up the regular season three days later on April 25th against Becker with first pitch set for 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.

The NECC Play-In Games are set for Tuesday, April 28th and the Championship is slated for Friday, May 1st, Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd.
