WESTON, Mass. – Regis College softball player Haley Fountain (Warren, Mass.) has been selected as this week's New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the conference offices Monday morning. Fountain helped lead the Pride (1-9, 1-1 NECC) to its first win of the season in a doubleheader split versus Mitchell.

Haley Fountain picked up her first collegiate win with a 2-1 victory over Mitchell College on Friday. She went 7.0 innings, allowing only one unearned run and striking out four. She also helped herself out at the plate, going 1-for-1 on the day with a pair of walks and also scoring the game-winning-run in the 2-1 win.

This season, Fountain is currently second on the team with seven hits and leads the team in walks (3) and is fourth in batting average (.269). Her 4.05 ERA is also tops on the team, while she is second on the Pride with 15 strikeouts.

The Pride return to action on Wednesday night when Regis hosts Pine Manor College in a non-league doubleheader scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m.
