WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College softball team has announced its schedule for the 2013 campaign. The Pride enters its second season as a part of the NECC after qualifying for the NECC postseason in 2012.

Last season, the Pride posted an 8-24 overall record while going 8-10 in league games. Their best stretch of play came during the week of April 11 through April 18 as the Pride posted a 5-3 record over four conference doubleheaders. The Regis season ended in the First Round of the NECC postseason as the Pride fell to Daniel Webster College, 11-10.

In 2013, the Pride look to return to the NECC postseason and will try to take advantage of a home-heavy schedule. Regis opens its 2013 season with 10 games in Fort Myers, Fla. as the Pride will play 10 games in five days as part of the Gene Cusic Classic from March 1 through March 5. After a short hiatus, the Pride open play back in New England with an NECC doubleheader against a Mitchell College team that went 21-15 a year ago and lost in the NECC Semifinals.

The Pride then host four-straight doubleheaders, taking on Pine Manor (8-18) and Mount Ida (18-22) in non-league action and hosting Becker (10-29) and NECC Champion Lesley University (28-12) on April 5th. Regis sandwiches road contests against Bay Path (14-26) and Daniel Webster (23-20) with a home doubleheader versus Fitchburg State (14-24), whom the Pride dropped a pair of games to (L, 3-2; L, 3-1) on the road last season.

From April 14 through the 20th, the Pride play four of their five contests at home including three conference doubleheaders against Elms (15-19), Newbury (9-26) and Wheelock (0-25). The Pride end the regular season with back-to-back road matchups against Eastern Nazarene (14-22) and Southern Vermont (6-32) before beginning the NECC playoffs on April 30th.
