Weston, Mass.—The Regis College Athletic Department is proud to announce the student athlete of the week. Softball senior Hope Benjamin (Rochester, Mass./Old Rochester Regional) was selected for her strong performances during last weeks games.  

Benjamin gave the Pride a go ahead win when she hit a grand slam Thursday (Apr. 14) against visiting Elms College.  This four run shot added to her all-time total of homeruns, which she currently ranks first in.  Benjamin continued this solid offensive production later into the week against Wentworth Institute of Technology.  In the first game against WIT, Benjamin hit two homeruns to help the Pride win by a score of 9-4. Benjamin was an offensive dynamo in the second game batting in a team high of five runs to help the Pride defeat the Leopards 20-4.

Benjamin will look to continue her successful offensive production this week when the Pride faces fellow Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent New England College Wednesday (Apr. 20).  The contest will be a double-header for the Pride and is set for a 4:00 p.m. start.
