Men’s Swim Team Earns Dual Meet Victory

WENHAM, Mass. – Contributions from several different Pride competitors allowed the Regis College men's swimming and diving team to defeat Gordon College, 89-60, Friday night in a dual meet at the Bennett Center Natatorium.

Three Pride swimmers collected two individual event victories apiece. Aryaman Nagaraj (Watertown, Mass.) finished first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:57.73 and in the 100 freestyle in 53.37 seconds, winning by close to 10 full seconds.

Cody Werner (Bettendorf, Iowa) showed his speed, winning the 50 freestyle in 24.70 seconds and the 100 butterfly in 57.26 seconds. After finishing second in the 100 butterfly in 1:00.81, Samuel Madriz (Union, N.J.) touched the wall first in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:43.66.

Ryan Kim (Los Angeles, Calif.) continued the strong start to his collegiate career, cruising to victory in the 200 individual medley by over nine seconds with a time of 2:10.10 as well as in the 100 breaststroke with a mark of 1:06.57.

Nagaraj, Kim, Werner, and Michael Curtis (Burlington, Mass.) combined for an overall time of 1:52.21 in the 200 medley relay. Curtis also finished second in the 50 freestyle in 25.28 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 1:20.57.

Regis College (2-2 dual meet record) will next compete in two weeks, traveling to Northfield, Vt., for a double dual meet against Norwich and Babson Saturday, Nov. 12, beginning at 12 p.m.
